Our FIRST family visitors!!!

"Mama" Sue and Uncle Ben arrived on Saturday, May 24!!! Rich and I were simply thrilled to have our very first visitors in our new hometown of Oklahoma City. We had such a great time!

Saturday night we just hung out, catching up. Sunday was a busy day. We went to Denny's for breakfast. There Gwyneth showed off her grits-eating skillz. We then all headed down to Bricktown here in OKC. It is much like the Old Market of Omaha- a renovated downtown with lots of charm. There we walked along the canal, joking and laughing. It was oh-so-hot so we went for ice cream and headed home. At the house, the girls got in the pool. It was so refreshing. Then we took our big appetites to Abuelo's downtown for some good ole Mexican food. There is nothing like good food and good company for a perfect evening!

That night Gwyneth and I started preparing for our trip back to Tennessee...missing Daddy already...

Mommy's Magical Birthday (still rockin' the 20's)

Today was my 29th birthday. What a day!!! Rich took off to spend the day with us. After our morning 'love cups' he did go out to do some shopping. During this time Gwyneth and I went out back to enjoy our big backyard with the dog. I put Gwyneth on a blanket too...just for play. When Rich got home I opened my sentimental gifts and all the sweet cards. Then we headed for Bricktown. We had been other times- but today was a special day. In honor of me being yet another year older, oops- I mean: wiser, we rode the water taxi down the canal. It was romantic in an odd way despite it feeling like95+ degrees and a whiny baby on my lap (think: naptime). The day was just perfect in its own way! We ate at Abuelos. (Was this for ME or for Rich??? lol) Enjoyed some great food! We ended the day with baby in bed and a movie. Home is definately where the heart is. :)

My First Mother's Day...

...and boy was it special!!!! We got up with intentions of going to Mass at 11:15. Rich had cards galore for me. Both he and Gwyneth had really special cards, but even the dog and cat remembered Mommy!!! I opened my gift from them all. It was a digital photo frame. Wowzers! I love it. Then Mommy got slightly side-tracked loading pics on in, so church didn't happen. We did go out for breakfast though. We spent the rest of the day just enjoying one another. I am so lucky to be surrounded by such love.
