Our little glow-worm!!!

Just like her big sister, Chloe is having to do phototherapy for her jaundice. She is a little glow-worm. I cannot wait for the jaundice issues to be resolved so I can hold my baby more (she has to lay on this bed whenever she isn't eating or getting a diaper change)!!!

We are so sick!!! What terrible timing!!! Both Gwyneth and I have relapsed with the colds that we had before Chloe was born. To make matters worse, Gwyneth's has turned into her first ever ear-infection. Whew. It has been some looooong days. However, we have gotten some quality cuddle time the past few days.

Three days old!!!

It is a beautiful day here in Oklahoma!!! Chloe is three days old today. We all decided to hang out in the backyard for a little while. We also took the girls to Wiley Post Park. There Gwyneth got to swing and play for some big-girl time!!! It was nice to get some sunshine and fresh air!

Chloe is here!!!

Chloe Rosalind has arrived!!! She was born on Saturday, February 21. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 6 oz (that's an ounce short of a whole pound bigger than Gwyneth!) and is 20.5 inches long. Little Chloe has dark hair like Mommy and is a breastfeeding champion!!! You know I had been saying I thought she would be here soon (despite it being early). Sure enough- my water broke at 2 a.m. on Saturday morning (I was 37 weeks). It was another stellar birth experience. I did it all natural again, no epidural (go me!). My water breaking was the first indication I was in labor- despite a few contractions right before bed around midnight. Like I said, my water broke at 2...we were admitted to the hospital around 3:30. I was already 7 to 8 cm's dilated. I started pushing around 4:40...had her at 4:57 am. YAY!!!! We were released from the hospital yesterday after a 24 hour stay. Gwyneth got to meet Chloe for the first time when we got home yesterday (she is sick, so we didn’t bring her to the hospital on Saturday). GWYNETH LOVES HER NEW SISTER!!! She still doesn’t seem too jealous and is all smiles about the baby. She even held Little Miss Chloe this morning with Mommy’s assistance. Rich is being SO wonderful. He has taken off until Thursday. He has been doing a great job taking care of our sick toddler here at home. He has done housework, laundry and has cooked for us all. Mimi (my step-mom Pat) arrived at our house on Friday around noon- back in Oklahoma to resume her care at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. She got here just in time!!! We are so happy that she could share this special time with us.

One last hurrah?

The night before Gwyneth was born we ate at the Olive Garden in Omaha. It was our 'one last hurrah'. We have planned to do the same this time. However, since we have no idea when this little munchkin will show up- and Mommy suspects it will be soon, we decided to go on and eat tonight. Hopefully this picture will give you an idea of just how BIG and uncomfortable I have become!!!

Moms' Night Out

I attended our group's Moms' Night Out tonight. Me, Sabrina, Angela and Chrishena went to The Melting Pot for a fabulous foundue dinner! What a treat!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Rich woke me and Gwyneth up from our nap with Valentine's Day gifts!!! He got me a card, a big box of chocolates and a cute teddy bear. He got Gwyneth a card, a small box of chocolates and a little bear. Despite being in utero, Chloe even got a small box of chocolates and a card (with ladybugs on it to match the theme of the nursery)!!! What a sweet, sweet husband and Daddy!!! Of course, Rich had a card and a big box of chocolates waiting on him as well. The evening couldn't have been any sweeter! (Note the chocolate in our teeth in that last picture. Mmmm.)

The nursery is DONE!!!

Woo-hoo!!! I have finished the nursery!!! I painted the letters "CHLOE" and the painting above the crib. My friend Amber did the framed wall hanging. The room is gorgeous. Now all we need is a baby to go in there!!!

Baby Shower

The ladies in our Southside OKC Mommies Playgroup threw a baby shower for us today!!! Sabrina hosted at her home. She had it decorated beautifully!!! She even had a coordinating cake to match the decor. I had a 'Mommy-to-be" sash to wear, while Gwyneth had a "Big Sister" sash. My-oh-my did we make out with all KINDS of baby loot!!! It is such a blessing to have such wonderful friends here in OKC.
